Director
Dr. Emily Dahlem is the Program Director, Military and Veteran Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), an institution that she has worked at since 2012. In her current role, Emily oversees campus and community veteran services at UCLA. During her career at UCLA, Emily worked in a variety of student affairs disciples including facility management, staff training and development, risk management, aquatics, and support to underrepresented student populations including homeless youth, foster youth, students with children/dependents, undocumented students, neurodiverse students, and transfer students. Prior to UCLA, Emily held positions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and federally funded non-profit research and development center. Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication studies at the UNL and her Master of Education and Doctor of Education from UCLA (dissertation titled: “Understanding the College Choice Process of. United States Military-Affiliated Transfer Students”).
