Honoring Our Heroes: Annual Service at LA National Cemetery

The UCLA Veteran Resource Center (VRC) proudly organizes two impactful annual service programs at the Los Angeles National Cemetery (LANC), fostering community and honoring our nation's service members.

Each fall, the VRC, in collaboration with campus partners and dedicated community members, meticulously cleans the headstones that mark the solemn resting places of our heroes. It's a powerful act of remembrance, ensuring these tributes remain pristine.

In May, following the Memorial Day celebration, our collective efforts shift to carefully retrieving the 90,000 flags that adorn the gravesites. This vital task ensures the cemetery remains beautiful and respectful, a testament to the enduring legacy of those who served.

These programs are more than just tasks; they are a profound opportunity to connect, reflect, and give back to those who gave so much. Join us in making a tangible difference and upholding the dignity of our nation's fallen.
