Are you military connected student with a partner and young children? Click on the banner to RSVP for a chance to get a lottery spot for a free event at the Kids Space Museum on Sun. Oct. 27 at 2pm. Includes tickets for your family. Free parking is available in Rose Bowl Lot I near the Jackie Robinson Baseball Field and the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. RSVP link closes on Oct. 20 and students are notified by Oct. 21
Lunch with a side of Health Benefits (Oct. 28)Come by the VRC (11am-1pm) and meet UCLA counselors Greg and Cameron (Veterans), and enjoy lunch* and some good company. Lunch provided first come, first served until it runs out.
Lunch with a side of Benefits (Nov. 12)Come to the VRC to meet Stephen, a VR&E counselor, who can provide Bruins with information about the VR&E (chapter 31) benefits. VRC staff will also be here to answer questions about chapters 33, 35, 1606 and Cal Vet. Lunch is on a first come, first served basis. Walk ups welcome
VRC’s Women’s Appreciation Night: Ladies' Polar Party (Nov. 20)Join us for our Women’s Appreciation Night! Come dressed in your comfiest pajamas, and join us for a night filled with laughter, delicious treats, and holiday cheer. Let’s make memories together at the Ladies' Polar Party, including a gingerbread house decorating contest and a movie. Click on event banner to RSVP.
UCLA Football game vs. Fresno State (Nov. 30)Save the date to watch UCLA football play Fresno State on Sat. Nov. 30, 2024 at the Rose Bowl. Tickets are limited. This game is during the Thanksgiving long weekend. The game time will be announced by the Athletic Department per their TV contract. The digital tickets will be emailed to student 1 week before the game.
Finals Destress with Therapy Dogs (Dec. 4)Come to Bruinwalk (by Kerckhoff Hall and SAC) from 11am-1pm on Wed. Dec. 4 to play with therapy dogs and destress a little as you prepare for your finals. Open to the campus.
Women in Service Winter Outing (Feb. 19)VRC’s Women’s Appreciation Presents Women's Winter Outing! Join us for a trip to the Hammer Museum and lunch! Don’t miss out on this special trip off campus and an opportunity to spend time with other military-connected women! 🏛 Click on event banner to RSVP.

Memorial Day Flag Pick Up (May 27)The UCLA Veteran Resource Center and the UCLA ROTC programs, along with members of the community, have supported the Los Angeles National Cemetery (LANC) in a Memorial Day service program for the last 9 years. During this event, participants pick up 90,000+ flags that mark the grave site of our nations service members. This annual event occurs in the morning on the Tuesday following Memorial Day. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff, as well as anyone from the greater Los Angeles community who would like to honor Veterans and their families. RSVP today!

The UCLA Veteran Resource Center and the UCLA ROTC programs, along with members of the community, have supported the Los Angeles National Cemetery (LANC) in a Memorial Day service program for the last 8 years. During this event, participants pick up 90,000+ flags that mark the grave site of our nations service members.
Graduation & Year End Banquet (May 22)VRC hosted a Year End dinner for current and graduating students at Pauley Pavilion.
Bruin Day for Transfer Students (May 11)[POSTPONED] For those new students who were admitted into UCLA for Fall 2024, this was an open house for all things UCLA for the transfer student. Benefit presentation, campus fairs, meet with current staff and students - an open house style were the order for the day.
Vets in Healthcare Career Opportunities SpQ24 (April 18)On Thursday, April 18th (5-6:00pm) the UCLA Veterans in Healthcare hosted an event to Introduce the program and allow our community to meet with current Medical School Students, Ph.D. candidates, and other graduate students at the Veteran Resource Center. This information session was for undergraduate students, Both Veterans and Military-Connected Students who are pre-health and interested in pursuing a career in healthcare (Medicine, Dental, Nursing, etc.). The session will review:

*Information on the MedMentor Program
*Volunteer/Research Opportunities
*Clinical Opportunities
A group of attorneys and advocates spoke to students about the case and its implications for unhoused peoples. at the Law School.
Bruin Day for Freshmen (April 13)For those new Freshmen students who were admitted into UCLA for Fall 2024, this was an open house for all things UCLA. Benefit presentation, campus fairs, meet with current staff and students - an open house style were the order for the day.
Women in Service (April 11)To celebrate all the women who are in the service, the VRC hosted an event on Thursday April 11 (6-8pm) Food, crafts, music, and good company made for a fun event.
Family Time at the Zoo (April 6)All UCLA Veterans and dependents were invited to sign up to attend the LA Zoo on Sat. April 6.
Career Center Orientation (April 4)Career Center presented a drop-in workshop to go over their services, resources, spring quarter events& fairs, and alumni services.
Adapting your Military Experience to Civilian Careers (April 4)Students met with a UCLA Career Center employee (who is an Army National Guard Veteran) to get advice on how to best tailor your military experiences for your resume!
LA Kings game (April 3) West LA VA Medical Center Information Session (April 2) K9 Veterans Day & Therapy Dogs (March 13)To celebrate K9 Veterans Day and to assist with finals preparations, we held an event with therapy dogs on Bruin walk. A partnership with the PAWS OF LOVE organization who help over 120 students during the event.
Natural History Museum (Jan 27, 2024)UCLA students who are Veterans join a Saturday at the National History Museum. This event is important environment where kids can meet and play. Funding for this program was possible by Operation Hattrick.
WWP / Deloitte Employment Bootcamp (Jan20121, 2024)It was a 2 day workshop with Deloitte and WWP for interview tips, resume building, elevator pitches and mock interviews with HR managers. 20 student veterans and dependents attended from UCLA, UC Riverside, CSU Fullerton and USC. Students participated in 1-on-1 mock interviews with HR managers from 17 companies..

Family Ice Staking (Dec. 15)Due to a family emergency, this event has been cancelled.
UC Application Workshop (Nov. 17)Thanks to all who came for the UC Workshop at UCLA. Appreciate the various staff members of the community college VRCs promoting and driving students over to meet with Bruins, hear about their transfer process, share bread together at lunch, go on a campus tour, and making new friends. Thankful for the VRC student staff members, Ana from Admissions, Stephen from the VA, and alumnus Oren Morgan who assisted to making the Workshop a success!

On Nov. 11, 2023 the VRC hosted a tailgate for current student Veterans, dependent and spouses. They a few hours before the game and had a chance to meet alumni and friends of the VRC.
Veterans Day @ UCLA (Nov. 9)On Thurs. Nov. 9th, UCLA celebrated Veterans Day with the campus. Over 150 veteran students, alumni and community members attended.
Cal Vet Volunteer Info Session (Nov. 8)On Wednesday, November 8th, the VRC PreHealth Program and the West LA branch of Cal Vet Veterans Home hosted an information session for veterans and military-connected students at the Veteran Resource Center. As patient care experience is essential for pre-med and pre-health students, walked students through the application process
Lunch with a side of Benefits (Oct. 30)Students met Stephen, their VA staff member, to provides Bruin Veterans with information on their VR&E benefits (chapter 31). VRC staff will also be here to answer questions about chapter 33, 35, Cal Vet and 1606. Lunch was also provided.
DGSOM Admission Information Session (Oct. 18)The UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine hosted an information session for veterans and military-connected students for those who are pre-health and interested in applying to medicine school.
Pre Health - Intro to the Program FQ23 (Oct. 16)The UCLA Pre-Health Program for Military-Connected Students hosted an event to introduce the program specifically for veterans and military-connected students who are pre-health and interested in pursuing a career in healthcare(Medicine, Dental, etc.).
PreLaw Meet & Greet (Oct. 13)The founder introduced how the Pre-Law program can help student Veterans and dependents apply to law school.
