Jonathan Banasihan

Jonathan Banasihan is a third-year law student at UCLA and anticipates earning his Juris Doctor in the Spring of 2026. He served in the United States navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic from 2009-2016. He deployed with the USS Theodore Rooseveltand the USS Eisenhoweras part of the Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 40 detachments. Following transition from service, Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a minor in Chinese from American University. After graduating from American, he worked in export compliance for a multinational aerospace corporation.

Jonathan was a 2025 summer certified intern with the San Diego City Attorney’s Office Criminal division, appearing on the record in criminal proceedings and a jury trial. He worked as a law clerk for Veterans Legal institute in the summer of 2024. Jonathan served as the President of the Veterans Law Society in the 2024 academic year.
