Veteran Law Program

Purpose:

Established in 2023, Vets in Law provides aspiring veteran and military-connected law students with vital access to affordable pre-law advising, application support, and strategic resources. Recognizing the distinct barriers to entering the legal profession, our program specifically focuses on empowering first-generation, low-income, and formerly enlisted veterans as they navigate the complex law school admission landscape.

Vets in Law facilitates a comprehensive veteran-to-law school pipeline built on two core pillars:

• Community Cultivation: Fostering a robust network of peers who share a mutual dedication to legal service and leadership.

• Direct Mentorship: Connecting aspiring applicants with current student veterans thriving at top law schools to provide firsthand guidance, application reviews, and strategic mentorship.

By bridging the gap between military service and legal education, Vets in Law ensures that those who defended the law have the community, tools, and advocacy required to practice it.

"Thanks to the Vets in Law program at UCLA, I had free access to the LSAT Lab study platform, which was an absolute game changer for my LSAT studying. Having this support as a Veteran was huge in motivating me to study for the test.

Despite being a lesser known LSAT study platform, I was blown away with LSAT Lab. It has funny lessons that quickly taught me a deep understanding of the exam, and what the questions are asking. As a smaller company, support was super-fast and this helped streamline my studying. LSAT Lab has available 1 on 1 appointments with a tutor to customize your study plan, and I used this feature multiple times just to ask for advice on my study routine in advance of my actual test.

The interface that LSAT Lab uses is also intuitive and easy, and I was even able to study on my phone. The adaptive drilling function was super useful in boosting my confidence answering easier questions faster and saving time for harder questions. I also loved the analytics feature LSAT Lab has which made it super easy to see which questions I tended to struggle with the most with, which influenced my study strategy.
